This is not Charlotte’s Web. This big guy or big gal greets us at our gate everyday. He/She is one of the many spiders that has taken up residents around our house. Fun stuff…just thought I’d share.

We have been in Japan a little over a year now and the time has really flown by. I know it hasn’t felt like that for some of you back home but if you really think about it, I bet it has. I realized it has been a year when our friend Masa invited us over again for the fireworks festival (my first blog post) that we went to last year. The end of August marks my one year mark of blogging as well. I can’t thank you enough for all the readers who have stuck around. It means the world to me.

I finally finished a project I started and it turned out alright! My friend’s little girl turned one today and I had decided I would sew her a dress. After butchering a sewing pattern I repurposed the fabric I had already cut into something similar to a pillow case dress. It is no where near perfect. The seams are pretty bad but her little girl is so cute that no one will be paying attention to the seams! Thankfully!

Peter bought a reel mower recently and is super proud of it. No gas, no pesky extension cord, being good to the environment. I get it. Then you’ll notice our little garden. We got a late start but we have tomatoes and green peppers growing.
